Labyrinth era review – Matt Landi

The thing about Matt Landi is that without a question he’s going places. There’s never been A moment of doubt about it. Wherever life takes him, the sky or in this case the space is limitless. Cause this guy has more drive, ambitioN and passion for life than any of my guy friends that I ever met. But that’s not what makes LanDi awesome. It’s how he never forgets the friends and fans who have been there from the very beginning. He’s always appreciating, acknowledging and Thanking his Landi fans or LanditEs (as I like to call them) for their support*. Regardless of how many people are in the room and for that reason we’ll always be there cheering him on for wherever musical journey he takes uS on next.

*It’s the reason why no matter how many times I tell him he’s welcome and no need for thank you 🎾, he always opens another match round 😁 or does a friendship broadcast πŸ™ƒ

Elements EP review =)

Elements EP album cover art

As promised, here is my song review for my musician friend, Matt Landi’s Elements EP πŸ˜‰ The month milestone of it’s release is already here, so figured it was time I penned my thoughts! Back in August I posted a Picnic in the woods song review and this is the rest of the Elements. Stick around till the end to see the Elements EP photo exhibition (photos by yours truly) and bonus material.

While I didn’t get to collaborate with Matt for the songs review this time round (he’s off making EP 2 already!)*, it sure still was fun revisiting IG memory lane to get all these insider quotes from him. He’s a great writer and being quoted is probably something new!

*I’m convinced he has a Time Turner to pull time out of nowhere to start making a new EP so soon after a month. Sure I may have a Harry Potter wand pen, but I don’t think it’s working that well for me =D

Picnic in the woods song review =)

Picnic in the woods

Picnic in the woods Cover art by _vevsunshine

Confession, I’ve been meaning to write up a song track by track review since One Republic released their Oh My My Album in October 2016. I actually wrote copious amount of notes and took them with with me when I moved to my first own apartment in 2017. And the notes just sat there, I had every intention to type them up but life got busy (you know how it is!) Eventually I moved back with family again and lost the notes in the process (why am I not surprised?)

See now that’s a problem cause now I forgot how I write song reviews. Especially when one of your talented musician friend just recently released a new single (Picnic in the woods) and you want to do it justice. And when I say talented, I honestly think it doesn’t even scratch the surface – he plays not only various saxophones, but the guitar, piano and the clarinet! He also writes his own songs and produces them and is the most down to earth and kindest person I know. πŸ˜‰

Technically the first time I wrote a song review (yes it still counts even if it was never published!) I just made up my own rules, so let’s give this a go!

The truth about ghosting

Truth about ghosting

There’s a clear distinction between being ghosted and having an acquaintance friend. An acquaintance friend is someone you check in with once in a while; you don’t talk all the time but when you do, you always have good conversations. It’s completely normal for you to have a chat and then don’t hear from each other for a week orΒ  3 weeks or more. At the end of the day, you both still get back to each other at some point. This is completely fine because you both agree that this is the friendship level that you’re comfortable with.

Whereas ghosting, πŸ‘»Β  is when someone that you’ve been talking to consistently suddenly falls off the grid with no reason why. This usually happens when you think things are going so well. Granted unforeseen circumstances happen: dodgy mobile phone battery that won’t charge, family stuff, being deep in work/passion projects and whatnot- stuff happens, it’s life.

Hopeless Romantics song

Hopeless romantic A little bonus short story book extra for Love is a liability (my first short story in 2020!) πŸ˜‰ The song lyrics for Hopeless Romantics that Scarlett and Arty pen together for the music collaboration =)

Short short synopsis if you haven’t read the story yet πŸ˜‰
The two worlds of singer/songwriters Scarlett and Arty collide in a funny romantic comedy story. She’s relentless in believing love is a liability and he thinks he’s jinxed when it comes to love. So what could possibly happen?

As always when I write lyrics, I pull inspiration from other songs that have been released. Simply just to time the music beat when writing. That’s what happens when you’re a lyricist who doesn’t play any musical instruments πŸ˜‰ No need to question my methods though cause it clearly works!

EDM ESP vibes

Blue night sky
Lately YouTube has been recommending me a lot of EDM music that basically sums up all the feels when it comes to just friends or something more.Β  I mean, should I be worried that they hit the nail on the head for what I’m thinking right now? Or be kind of impressed that YouTube knows me well enough to know my music tastes? And no the songs didn’t appear cause of algorithms based on songs history, this has been going on since March 2020 with a new addition every month. Have a listen and let me know your thoughts!

Happy 1st of July! =D July is my absolute favourite month of the year πŸ˜‰ Whether it be the fact that’s the seventh month of the year (my favourite number), the Christmas in July vibes (the best times in Melbourne winter wonderland in Fed Square!) or the atmosphere of new beginnings to come – it’s the best! So I thought what better way is there to celebrate the good vibes other than giving my blog a much needed sweep?
