Melbourne’s heart shattering Friday…

Sharing the ❀ and care around Melbourne today in Melbourne's heart shattering Friday… "In moments like this, it is indescribable beyond words. I can't even begin to express how impacted by this tragedy you all must feel right now. Just know that you are not alone in this. You have the entire world and us Melburnians standing by your side surrounding you with our love, thoughts, prayers and light to illuminate the darkest hour. With love, light and hope."🌷🌷🌷 While this is a time of remembrance of the innocent lives lost, who had so much going for them but didn't get a chance to πŸ˜“ It's also a moment that reminds us to not take things for granted. Cause everything that we may think that isn’t going our way, really pales in comparison to all this. Even if our partner's or parents nattering drives us up the wall sometimes or we’re stuck in the less than ideal jobs or when we’ve failed in our studies or drive tests- know that we’re still blessed and lucky to have those moments. Because we don’t know what happens tomorrow… So today forgive what needs to be forgiven, hold your loved ones tight and make the most of the little nuances of lifeΒ πŸ˜‰

Flashback to History of Melbourne

Melbourne Town Hall

Photo taken from Melbourne City Town Hall

Day #3 of the unexpected long weekend- partly cause of hayfever cold blues (gosh Spring is not fun this year) and the AFL Finale! This was so not how I envisioned my long weekend last week. But seeing as I can’t wander out there, thought it was about time that I finally got around to my way back when posts! Starting with the epic History of Melbourne Exhibition πŸ˜‰

Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show

Melbourne Flower Show 2016

Melbourne International Flower Show 2016

Autumn in Melbourne this year has been extremely erotic. From blazing 32 degrees hot summer days to the whirlwinds of the 4 season weather of raging winds, rain and sun on Friday. All part of the mix of Melbourne life. But what always stays the same is the golden sunshine of a Sunday. Which made me reminisce about the annual Melbourne Flower and Garden show! Although I didn’t get the chance to attend year, I did go last year πŸ˜‰ Side note, the Better Homes and Gardens TV special made the outdoor garden exhibits way bigger than they actually were. Ah TV magic!

Summer fun

Summer Fun in Melbourne by Fed Square 2016

How time has flown! Already the end of the very first month of 2016 😱😱

Not to worry though, Summer is still here for another month πŸ˜‰ and I must say Melbourne has epic Summers! Partly because we still have this crazy 4 season weather, (just yesterday we had a downpour of rain storms!) but mainly because we have the awesome City of Melbourne tourism!

21 Things I learnt in 2015 =)

So here we are… NYE in Australia! Which begs the question, where did the time go?!!! For those who don’t know the background story of unibookworm… This blog was originally created in the middle of the early/late morning in June 2014 for uni students. I remember waking up vividly feeling compelled to start a blog that shared all my uni adventures and hints and tips of everything I learnt to help new students. And that was in the middle of my 2nd year of uni. And lo and behold, 2016 marks my final year of uni 😱

Since then the blog has grown on from just uni stuff to all things about Melbourne living, baking, creative writing, music and most notably Unibookworm radio πŸ˜‰ Along the way, I’ve grown so much as writer and blogger than I could ever imagine and got to know these wonderful 7 new followers….
Elegance on a budget, From me to you, David Snape and Friends, Plant Electrician, urban wall art, Lexi and Shari and Magdalena! πŸ˜‰

And I haven’t forgot my 2014 followers too- The Smiling Foodie,Β OpinionatedΒ Man and mindset!
Thank you all for joining unibookworm! I hope my stories have inspired you as much as yours did πŸ˜‰

Seeing how it’s the official last day ever of 2015, what’s a better way to say goodbye than listing the 21 things I learnt this year?

Starting off is the amazingly talented WordPress team who kindly compiled my blog stats in an awesome webpage! Thank you!!!

Here’s an excerpt:

A San Francisco cable car holds 60 people. This blog was viewed about 780 times in 2015. If it were a cable car, it would take about 13 trips to carry that many people.

Hi Unibookworm readers!

Sorry for the mini hiatus (once again)!
Was working on backlog posts and been feeling under the weather (who would have thought that hay fever was still possible after allergy season ended??? πŸ˜‰ After that all my tram musing notebook of posts somehow mysteriously disappeared =0 which thankfully Β I found once again πŸ˜‰ (I have to admit, I was slightly worried- there was some really great stuff being written on my commute to work… definitely a sigh of relief for finding it) and ta da, there is my explanation for my prolonged silence!

If you live in the Southern Hemisphere Christmas is tomorrow (yay!) in the warm tropics, the sun, beach and waves or Northern Hemisphere Winter Wonderland following day πŸ˜‰ No matter where you live, just wanted to wish you all a very Merry Christmas!Β πŸŽ„πŸŽ†πŸŽπŸŽ‰πŸŒ πŸŒŒβœ¨πŸ’« Thank you reading my blog and for joining the Unibookworm community to follow all the adventures of what has made 2015 πŸ˜‰

It’s been a big year of growth for Unibookworm, with radio (which will be back up and running in 2016 yay!), new themes and stories. Not to mention discovery of you awesome follower’s blogs! Hope you’ve enjoyed reading my blog as much as I have enjoyed reading yours πŸ˜‰

Have a safe and festive holiday- whether you’re in the North or South filled with fun, family and friends πŸ˜‰
