Unibookworm’s 2017 snapshot ;)

on December 31, 2017

2017 has been a relatively quiet year blogging wise πŸ˜‰ and I already can’t wait to get writing again with 2018. With so many ideas and stories to share, it’s going to be amazing πŸ˜‰ Shout out to Milanote- my new favourite website to store my blog ideas. I would be totally lost without it =) If only there was an app, that would be awesome. Till then Trello will be here to save the day!

Thank you to my amazing readers for joining Unibookworm, we’re at 75 now! Woohoo! I honestly can’t thank you guys enough.Β Even it’s been a quiet year, you guys continue to surprise me with your support, comments and follows! Thank you for reading my stories and for sharing yours πŸ˜‰ Wishing you all the best for 2018 for more ups and ups headed your way πŸ˜‰

And what better way to start the new year than reflecting on the year that was? With 10 snappy questions from the End Your Year Intentionally post from No SideBar, a Minimalist website!

1. What makes this year unforgettable?
Unibookworm’s moving out adventure! πŸ˜‰ 26 mini life lessons all at my 2017 A-Z blogging challenge =)

2. What did you enjoy doing this year?
The independence and freedom of living on my own. To living and creating the life I always dreamed of.

To live

3. What/who is the one thing/person you’re grateful for?
Multiple people! ( I’ll be cheeky =p)

My guy best friend =) even though we don’t live in the same time zones/city anymore, my moving out adventure wouldn’t be possible without him πŸ˜‰ and I write my best when we’re together. LDR Uppage, Seeds 4 Life, Sun & Moon all inspired by him =)

My parentchutes! They’re not my real parents but they give much needed solid Dad and Mum life advice in everything. They’re the best!

And my amazing friends/family at work- they all pitched in/helped me in my moving out adventure in some way or another =) love you all!

4. What’s your biggest win this year?
Getting life sorted!

Checklist 1Checklist 2Checklist 3

5. What did you read/watch/listen to that made the most impact this year?

Read πŸ˜‰

I’m like obssessed with the 16 Personalities test πŸ˜‰ and pretty much got all my close friends to take the test! It’s like the key to understanding people and how to build relationships ^^

This is my absolutely my favourite INTJ post πŸ˜‰

#1. Suits.

Admittedly I was apprehensive at first and watched it on a late night whim when I first moved to my apartment. But I actually ended up being hooked soon after. With Mike’s photographic memory/moral compass (although that’s debatable seeing he’s not actually a lawyer but wants to do good), Harvey’s quick wit/life quotes, Donna’s awesomeness, Rachel’s smarts, Louis’ unique antics and Jessica’s no BS mojo- in the midst of the NY’s leading legal firms: it’s no surprise it’s a big hit! When you love work as much as I do (former job, not current one- the show resonates!)

It even inspired me to pick up my business law unit early and during exam study time, had the entire seasons playing when I was prepping. Actually ended up with a Distinction ^^

Key things I learnt:
#1. I make my own options.

#2. Just be awesome (like Donna), no permission needed.

#3. What loyalty is.

And the other show- The Good Doctor πŸ˜‰

Key point:

Don’t let anyone tell you what you can and can’t do. And your limitations don’t mean anything…

#1. Paris:

Literally describes my 2017 πŸ˜‰

#2. Fighter:

#3. Stronger:

6. What did you worry about most and how did it turn out?

Getting life sorted. Moving out adventure trouble shooting issues & meeting my parents again after everything. End? Fixed by mid year. Seeing parents? Went surprisingly well (albeit with the dust in the house, cough cough- still suffering why?) as they patiently listened to my work rants.

7. What was your biggest regret and why?
Hmm, I live life with no regrets- so none! =)

8. What’s one thing that changed about yourself?
Work-life balance. That I have to draw the line in the sand when I working late. Why? Cause the late hours will catch up and hit you like a ton of bricks leading to burnout.

What I found to work to remind me to leave on time is scheduling after work activities that practically forces me to leave. Whether uni classes or GC communities or dinner with friends- that definitely helped. Cause there is life outside of the office as much I loved it in there.

9. What surprised you most this year?
That you have to continually fight for what you want even though it was what was promised. Sounds ridiculous but it’s true. If you’re not advocating for yourself, no one else will.

10. If you could go back to last January 1, what suggestions would you give your past self?

#1. How to resolve issues.

#2. Be kind to yourself and patient just like you are to others.

#3. People will always underestimate you. Don’t bother proving them wrong. The only person you need to prove it to is yourself. Plus it’s a total waste of energy to argue with people who are close minded/not willing to budge.

#4: Take One day at a time.

2018 New Year’s Resolutions a-coming!
