Melbourne Winter Wonderland! Part 1 β„οΈπŸŒŒβ„οΈπŸŒŒ

on July 2, 2016

The photo of the year

Winter solstice was incredible πŸ˜‰ Namely cause I knew it was happening! (*Thank you Google Doodles). From the pretty yellow moon low in the morning. To the well deserved long night of rest and sleep! While our friends in Europe and the Northern hemisphere had the longest day and shortest night πŸ˜‰

Speaking of winter vibes, Christmas in July is here! πŸ˜‰ Nothing says welcome to Winter than our iconic Riverside Ice rink!

Having a sense of deja vu? Turns out this was the same footage from last year. Not very creative City Of Melbourne!

Last year due to unseen obstacles, I didn’t end up making it to seeing it ;( Not this year! In fact, Melbourne has done one better. Christmassy world of wonder has started in late mid June! Of course Unibookworm has gone off and scouted the best tidbits of the event =D

Good morning Melbourne πŸ˜‰
You sparked my interest first thing in the morning especially those food stalls πŸ˜‰ Knew the iconic skate rink but not the amazing food!

Return for lunch exploration πŸ˜‰

A picturesque Christmas wonderland with Micahel Buble christmas carols and alike in the background where ice skaters of all ages show some skills πŸ˜‰ Granted when I was there, the rink was completely empty! Oooh a private ice skate rink =D Perfect for newbies skaters (guilty ;).

Loved the Christmassy vibes accentuated with the food market stalls…From the nut cart of sugar caramelisation to Frencheese to creme brulee! They are ever so chatty and friendly, where asking how your day is going is the norm. You’ll find no rush here, a whole different world from any other foodie event I’ve ever been at!

Since it was the week before school holidays, I got my very own private foodie tour! Where all stalholders were hopeful for business with smiles πŸ˜‰ Β In the end opted for the vanilla creme brulee with raspberry (only $5!)

Vanilla creme brulee

The best ever Vanilla creme brulee with raspberry =)

Best bit? Definitely watching them blow torch sugar right before your very eyes πŸ˜‰

Return to the night scene! Will let the pics do the talking…

How amazingly Parasian does Melbourne look?

We’ve arrived at Paris without needing to take a plane!

Fellow Melburnians, cancel all your fancy lunch and night plans (4 season rainy weather dependent) and swing by!! πŸ˜‰

Till then, more foodie pics and reviews to come on my next visit at Riverside Rink Village!
