Q is for Quince – Day 17

The toss up between quinoa and quince. In the end the latter won! Quince the underrated and unknown fruit. Even Google had limited info, but thanks to kitchen.com, prepare to be dazzled by quince! For instance did you know that quince can’t be eaten as a raw fruit? It’s not that you can’t try, it’s just physically impossible. Now we’re just thinking, what on earth am I supposed to do with it?

😉 Yes it’s inedible and will practically never ripe. But chop and dive into water it’s magical aroma properties appears. Aha I knew there was a reason why I would even consider trying to cut up this fruit!

😉 Add to water and it changes from the pearly white to rosy pink! How’s that for a chameleon fruit?

😉 It’s elusive fruit!

    I first found quinces by accident when living in Portugal where mermelada was not the orange jam I expected but a conserve made from quince. Not my favorite!
