I’ve always made New Year resolutions, although admittedly by the end of Jan, they are completely forgotten! Most of the time we tend to forget them when we tried shooting for the stars and ended up far from there. But now that it’s 2016- I’ve finally come up with a fail safe way to actually keep them on the radar.
Funnily enough the key to ticking off your resolutions is making them SMART. Not the usual acronym in my case…
Real results in Time =)
7 Types of resolutions to go for!
#1: One that leads to better health.
I know the first thing that comes to mind is gym and diets eek. Let’s be honest here, if you’ve already planned your gym escape plan and are unconvinced of eating meals out of a delivery box- don’t even go there 😉
Instead find what works for you! If you love the outdoors, go for a walk, run, bike or jog. Want a more balanced diet? Start switching up your default coffee/muffin/pastry combo with decaf or if you’re really adventurous green tea latte/home made friands (they’re an almond meal based recipe with no butter) and fruit- you’ll barely notice the difference 😉 You’ll be surprised on the many inventive ways to add more fruit!
The true key is to take small steps at a time and continually build up on it.
After last year, I gained the whole new perspective that nothing is better than having good health!
😉 To have a better back posture (less slouching and more upright) it does wonders for your confidence!
#2: The one where you’ve been putting off for ages but really need to do aces!
We all have one of these lingering around- whether it be finally cleaning out your closet, getting rid of all your old high school study relics that got stashed in the study room or a pottery class- this is the year to have no regrets!
😉 The latter of high school relics and getting my Ps (drivers license!)
#3: Going to places that you’ve always dreamed of going but never made it.
Where do I even begin? Parliament House, Fed Square roof top gardens, Planetarium Observatory and Deakin Art Gallery are all avenues not yet explored!
Not the mention the epic Trunk Town – it’s an American diner!! 😉 So need to go there.
#4: Learn something new.
Have you always been fascinated with different languages? Wanted to learn how to paint? Bake macarons like a boss? Then do it!
😉 Learn Auslan sign language and different ways to say hello in my radio!
#5: Bad habits detox.
Easy to make, hard to break, but we can do it!
#6: Exploring new places with your blog.
I’m guessing since you’re reading this post, you’re a WordPress blogger too! Hope you had a great 2015 year of blogging 😉 For me it was a great time of experimentation with Adobe Voice, Vine, Soundcloud- learnt heaps of stuff I never knew before! 😉 and adding new features like theme/photo/song of the day =D
This year, why not branch out in the WordPress community? Sign up for a blogging course, event~ sharing our stories. And of course reblog, comment and share other blogs 😉
😉 I’ll be joining the Movie Addicts, Bookworm club and six word challenge and more! Stayed tuned for 2015 backlog posts and the new stories on the way 😉
#7: Unlocking your childhood hobby 😉
As a kid, my head was always full of stories. Nothing was better than spending the day and night hiding with the torch reading. And if I wasn’t I was writing stories. Which I haven’t done in so long! While it was awesome to escape in other worlds, escaping in a world you created was a whole other feeling. So this year, I’m bringing back the creative writing with short stories! 😉
New years resolutions. Whether you love them or hate them. Do or don’t. May 2016 be a year where you keep moving forward with new memorable experiences on the way! Where you keep growing and learning more about yourself as a person 😉
