Melbourne Winter musings flashback Part 2

Happy Sunday everyone! πŸ˜‰

Weekends for me are Unibookworm’s musings πŸ˜‰ about Melbourne- places to go and see, latest technology raves, books reviews and all things foodie and travel. So every weekend it will vary!

Today is the final part of the flashback for Melbourne Winter’s musings… (Sorry it took so long!).

Part 1 of Melbourne musings can be found right here πŸ˜‰

As you may remember, #3 was to see the Friday night Fireworks show.Β Which of course in true Melbourne fashion that it was wet and rainy! But it was oh so worth it…

(* My iPad iMovie seems to be playing up, any audio track I add seems to come out all fuzzy and all ><” so next best thing is to play the audio track in one tab ( When can I see you again by Owl city seemed like the fitting track) and then the fireworks in another ;). Sorry about the awkwardness, but if you have other solutions I’m all ears!

#6: Swing by Federation square’s ice rink

Although the ice rink is no longer here ;(, winter thing only. The video and photos that I’ve seen look incredible! πŸ˜‰ Added with various theme days like Totally 80’s and Christmas in July, not to mention National Pajama Day the winter fun was never ending! Despite being a total amateur ice skater, I was super excited to check it out but didn’t end up making it. But there’s always next year!

#7: Stock up on the winter must reads =)

In the cold dreary weather ( well especially this year- the coldest Winter in Melbourne in 20 years!!!), of course snuggling up on the couch with your favourite novels is a must. Not to mention your freshly brewed mug of tea/coffee/green tea latte/ hot chocolate in the other hand- a readers paradise is made πŸ˜‰

This Winter, I stumbled across the Percy Jackson books which were sooo good! Page turns right from the beginning to end πŸ˜‰ Was a bit disappointed that the movie franchise was cancelled after 2 movies, but super happy that the books were there to finish the story! A book review will come shortly, but in short- a great adventure series with teenage Demigods ( half Human, half Greek god or goddess) off to save the world. With just the right balance of romance that shines Greek mythology in today’s 21st century πŸ˜‰
