After the long weekend of finally getting the Cake Bake and Sweet show review up, welcome back to the theme of the day! 😉 * which may or may not be 800 words depending on the day!
Today’s song of the day is a flashback to Taylor Swift’s former country days- Ours.
And of course photo of the day is…
I just couldn’t resist seeing how it ties into the song of the day ;)… As the quote says, don’t you worry your pretty little mind, people throw rocks at things that shine. But they can’t take what’s ours.
There will always be naysayers and critics no matter where you go or are in life. Whether it’s career, education, your dreams, different life stages or between navigating the tricky waters of 20 something life, they will always be there. But pay no attention to them. The truth is that they do that as they see something in you that they wished they had. And instead of encouraging you, they try to bring you down.
As much as they try, they can’t take what’s ours. Our dreams, golden sunshine and hope.
People will always have opinions of what we should or shouldn’t do, but along the track you realise that ultimately that their opinions don’t matter. Now I’m not saying your family and friends have to agree with every decision you make otherwise that makes them the naysayers and critics. (*That would just lead us to pitfalls that you and I don’t want to take ). I’m talking about those who go out of their way to make your life difficult and that whatever you do, they have other ideas what you should be doing. Always adding a negative spin on things.
It is with those kind of people, where we have to tone up our sparkle of relentlessly dreaming. Refusing to take note of what they say. Standing up to say why not when they ask why you shouldn’t. That no matter what they say or do, it just propels you even more forward with grit and determination to make what seemed impossible 😉
While they stay on the sidelines of cynics, we’re on the winning side.
And I honestly can’t put it better than Wilfred Peterson.
Word of the day which just so happens to my favourite movie of the year…
The adorable little bird (which sort of reminds me of the Twitter bird) is Valiant. He is the epitome of refusing to listen to the naysayers and overcoming all the adversity, challenges of being the underdog. All because he didn’t let them take what was his (dreams, passion, virtues and values) no matter how crazy of reckless seemed. And ended up saving England in WWWII! 😉
But just imagine for a moment that if he did listen to them, the mission would have failed and the WWWII would have never ended. Just like for us. If we listened and believed what they cynics said, we would have never reached where we wanted to be now and where we will be 😉 May you keep dreaming, believing, being courageous, cheerful and planning and doing what you aspire to be and do =)
